@ringsking Regarding your experience with the rings "Dream Machine," do you plan on doing additional training videos? I'm 72 yo and an old mediocre rings gymnast. I've been using my DIY Dream Machine for 4-5 years and have been able to do sequences of planches, irons, and cross pullouts amidst injuries. Your videos are awesome! Thanks, again.

Currently, the most recent one I built was moved over to Spartan's newer gym but not set up yet, so I'm not sure yet about more videos but possibly. And nice job and keep it up and good luck with your training!
is it better to increases muscles strength, power, and overall volume in order to get better in rings, or is it better to decrease fat volume and thus lightened the body weight?
Having a good strength to weight ratio is always best, so I would say a combination is helpful. But I also think building up more strength can counteract possible extra weight. And good luck with your training!

hello. Im fairly advanced on the rings compared to avg joe, but I just can never feel any weightlessness in the back swing to have enough lift/strength for the turnover to dip position. Does that make sense? perhaps a tspine or lumbar mobility thing?

I have to disagree with your rankings. Categorically Dong is technically better than yang mingyong. Yan's inverted cross would be deducted as it's not level and he always struggled on this dismount. Anyhow, preferences are subjective and I liked that you included Danny!

What brand of oil do you use on this treadmill And where does it go?
I used a shaving oil that I use with my hair clippers and it goes at the bottom ends of the side rails (I have since given this to my friend and when I had it, I only oiled it a little)
Any tips for the balance or is thst just trial and error?
In my opinion, this is a skill that can take some volume of training time to get it. There is some position strength to develop and also to get used to the balance. I used to do a lot of holds with my feet on the straps but it wasn't until I made it an effort to do a lot of numbers of trying without the straps before I was able to get it. Glad you learned how to kick your heels together. I like to finish the kick with the upper leg kicking up again... by itself, while you land on the bottom foot.
You could practice this until you get it right... Or you could just do a rail of good cocaine and it'll happen naturally!

Yes I use it 2x a day and have been using it for 14 months now and am very pleased with the results. It's not perfect but it is definitely helping

Hi. Could you do a tutorial on proper technique of butterfly from hanging to iron cross (or any other position) movement.
I've been a fan of the butterfly type skill since I first saw Li Xiaoshuang do it on TV back in 1992 (he went from a front support down through a cross to a hang and then back up to a cross hold). I was never able to do one but had a friend who could. What can help is having a little bit of shoulder angle. In the beginning the bigger the angle (shoulders back/legs up) the more it's like a Pineda/front lever bounce to cross. And then hopefully the angle can be reduced to just very slight or eliminated totally and be just a pure straight vertical pull to cross. Sorry if this isn't too helpful and good luck with your training!

Thank you! The elbows can take a beating and be taxed on rings especially with rolled wrist work. There are a few exercises you can do for preventative maintenance. I made a video using a Theraband Flexbar a few years back (ua-cam.com/video/tGWVI8sD8jY/v-deo.html) and also using a band (ua-cam.com/video/53bcijOqJFs/v-deo.html). And good luck with your training!

Hey Carl - Great tips. Still relevant many years on. How does one progress these swings to a giant? I seem to be stuck at around 30 degrees above horizontal...
Thank you! A way I like to teach giants is to swing like you are currently doing and then do a front handspring off at the end part (and roll your wrists back toward you at the top of your swing). This can be done as your swing gets bigger and closer to handstand and you can get more comfortable at the end of your swing that you can safely get off the bar (doing it over a pit is better too of course). And then hopefully your swing can be big enough where at the end of your swing (while still rolling your wrists back towards you at the top) you can either front handspring/arch off or come down the other way and jump off. To swing bigger, you can try and work on casting higher and higher until almost to a handstand and you can also be more aggressive on your tap swing. And you can practice the wrist rolling and front handspring/arching off part on a low bar/waist high bar where your feet are on the floor and you roll your wrists and arch and hold it for a second while your feet are still on the floor and then letting go (not really a front handspring but the arching and letting go part). When i do dead planche i feel a lot of pressure on the forearms(especially when releasing my grip from the parallelettes )and not the delts , any explanation or solution
Hey sorry, not sure. Working the dead planche is newer for me and even with the band it's hard for me to get down lower (and I feel it discomfort wise in my wrists). And good luck with your training!

Sometimes that can happen, especially in the early on stages. I would say maybe try and focus on the greater percent that it is straighter/less crooked (than the smaller amount it may be off) and build from that. Once it gets more comfortable, you might be able to relax more and focus on making it more square/straighter and good luck with your training!
